Archived Cards

Archived cards are cards that have been intentionally moved out of active work and into Kanera's cleanup path.

Do not use archive as the normal way to handle finished work. Use Completed Cards for work that is done but should remain available in history.

Deleting cards

Kanera does not immediately delete individual cards. When a card is removed from active work, it is archived first.

This gives you a recovery window if someone archives the wrong card or later needs information from it. During that window, the card can still be found with the Archived filter and restored.

After the retention period ends, Kanera automatically deletes the archived card permanently.

Show archived cards

Active board and Assigned Work views show non-archived cards by default.

Use the Archived filter when you need to review archived cards. The filter switches the view to archived cards instead of mixing archived cards into the active-card list.

The board filter menu with the Archived filter available.

Turning on archived cards clears the overdue-only filter because overdue status is for active, incomplete work.

Restore archived cards

Archived cards are read-only until they are unarchived.

During the retention window, you can open an archived card and unarchive it to return it to active work.

Archived card retention

Archived cards are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days.

After the 30-day retention period passes, Kanera's cleanup job deletes the archived card and its stored attachment files.

This is different from completed cards. Completed cards are hidden by default according to the workspace completed-card visibility setting, but a completion-date range can include them in the main views again. They do not become archived cards and do not enter the archived-card deletion path.

Imported archived cards

When a Trello import includes archived cards, those cards follow the same Kanera archive behavior and retention window.
