When your 30-day Pro trial ends, you can upgrade to Pro or continue on the Basic plan.
If your workspace is within the Basic plan limits, you can keep using it for free. If you are over the Basic plan limits, anything above those limits becomes read-only. Your work is never deleted.
The Basic plan includes up to 4 users, 3 boards, 1 automation, all views, custom fields, colours, and 250 MiB shared attachment storage for the organisation.

Pro includes the full Kanera experience: all functionality, board guests, 200 GiB shared attachment storage for the organisation, full REST API access, MCP server access for AI agents, and support.

Yes. Pro includes board guests, so you can invite external collaborators to specific boards without giving them access to your organisation or an entire workspace.
A guest's first board across your organisation is free. Giving that guest a second board uses one purchased seat, and further boards reuse the same seat. The person remains a board-scoped guest throughout.
Not automatically. Giving a guest their second board uses capacity from seats your organisation has already purchased; Kanera does not change your Stripe subscription quantity.
If every purchased seat is occupied, the second-board grant is blocked until an administrator buys capacity from Account Plan. Removing the guest from boards until only one remains releases the used guest seat, but does not reduce purchased capacity.
Yes. Kanera is source-available and free to run on your own infrastructure.
Self-hosted Kanera has full feature parity with hosted Kanera. You provide and manage the infrastructure.
There is no Kanera licence or per-seat fee for self-hosting. You still pay for hosting, storage, maintenance, backups, email delivery, and the time needed to operate the deployment.
Kanera is source-available under Elastic License 2.0. You can inspect, modify, and self-host it for your own use, but cannot provide it to third parties as a hosted or managed service.
Yes. Full REST API access is included in Pro and Self-Hosted.
Yes. Pro and Self-Hosted include access to Kanera's MCP server, allowing AI agents to securely work with Kanera as a source of project context.
An active organisation member occupies one purchased seat. Organisation membership and workspace access are separate from guest access.
A cross-organisation guest does not use a seat on their first board in your organisation. Access to a second or later board uses one purchased seat in total, while the guest remains limited to explicitly granted boards.
Your workspace can continue on the Basic plan if it fits within the Basic limits.
If your workspace exceeds those limits, anything above the Basic plan limits becomes read-only. Your work is not deleted.
Yes. You can pay $5 per user per month, or choose annual billing at $49 per user per year.
