Built to help teams
coordinate work efficiently.

Kanera gives teams one clear view of people, priorities, progress, and context across every client and project.

How it started

We built Kanera
for ourselves first.

We already had boards, tasks, and project processes. As clients and projects multiplied, the clear picture disappeared.

Managers still opened multiple boards, chased status updates, and prepared reports by hand. Team members had work scattered across projects and still needed to ask what came next.

Feedback requests could be missed, completed work was difficult to review across the team, and important context lived in too many places.

Our project tools stored the work, but we were still wasting time manually coordinating, explaining, and reporting on it.

The problem

Fragmented visibility created more work.

The problem was not a lack of tools. It was fragmented visibility across projects.

The operational consequence was constant manual coordination: opening boards, chasing people, explaining priorities, checking feedback, and rebuilding reports.

The business consequence was slower, less reliable delivery. When the overview depended on people reconstructing status, time spent coordinating could not be spent moving work forward.

Basic board tools were easy to use, but did not provide enough visibility across projects. Larger suites were powerful, but introduced more setup, administration, and friction than we wanted.

So we built Kanera: one fast, connected workspace for coordinating people, priorities, progress, and context across real delivery work.

What we believe

The principles behind
every decision.

Speed matters.

A work tool is something your team touches all day. Every pause, slow transition, heavy screen, and clunky interaction adds up.

Kanera is built with performance as a product principle, not a finishing touch. Opening cards, switching views, moving work, checking updates, and navigating busy boards should feel smooth and immediate. Fast is not a bonus feature. It is part of the foundation.

Clarity beats complexity.

Teams need structure, but they do not need unnecessary ceremony.

Kanera gives teams enough power to manage real work: a focused Home, visual boards, editable tables, Global Work, custom fields, automations, notes, permissions, and integrations, without forcing every team into one rigid process. The goal is simple: make it easier to see what matters, who owns it, where it stands, and what changed.

Context should stay with the work.

Work is more than a card title.

Every project has decisions, references, discussions, files, checklists, owners, due dates, and small follow-ups. When that context gets scattered, teams lose time and alignment. Kanera keeps the work and its context close together, so teams can move faster without losing the details.

Teams should have control.

The tools teams rely on should not feel like black boxes.

Kanera Pro gives teams the complete product without infrastructure work. The source is available under Elastic License 2.0, so the codebase is inspectable and self-hosting stays open when policy or deployment requirements call for it, running the same feature set with no Kanera per-seat fee. Your data leaves in Excel, CSV, or JSON whenever you want it.

What makes it different

Everything project work needs.
Built to work together.

Kanera gives teams visual planning through boards, structured tracking and reporting through Table view, deadline planning through Calendar, personal focus through Home and My Cards, and daily progress visibility through Work Done.

It keeps documentation close with notes. It keeps workflows consistent with automations. It keeps collaborators aligned with guests and permissions. It keeps client and internal work aligned with one-way board syncing. It keeps teams connected through API access, webhooks, and MCP support.

Kanera is a complete, modern project workspace built for real team use. It is also deliberately scoped: no Gantt charts, dependency links, timers, or intake forms.
