The simplicity of boards.
The muscle of a workspace.
Rebuilt for teams who love the clarity of visual boards with the muscle of a modern project system.
Tactile Visual Boards
Everything you need on a card—without 10 paid plugins
Drag-and-drop lists, sub-checklists with owners, custom fields, rich markdown, attachments, and covers come standard.
Full-Context Card Detail
Dependencies, subtasks, and shared context
Connect blockers across boards, explore chains in Map or Timeline, and hand work off when prerequisites clear. Keep owners, checklists, files, and discussion with each card.
Cross-Project Focus
One queue across every board
Stop jumping across 20 tabs. Home and Up Next unify assigned work across all boards into a single prioritized queue.
Scoped Notifications
Never miss what matters, pause the rest
In-app drawer plus delivery rules per workspace. Route mentions, assignments, and due dates to browser push, email, ntfy, or Gotify.
Instant Table & Rollups
Spreadsheet power on board data
Switch from visual board to structured table with one click. Filter, group by owner or status, and calculate live sums.
Work Done Reports & Activity
Progress, workload, and the next conversation
Review a period summary, daily flow, current risks, and workload per person. Switch to the attributed activity list for the detail behind an update.
Bring your own AI assistant
The one you already use, on real boards
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Copilot. They can read cards, update work, and write the standup—without a Kanera chatbot fee.
Hosted Pro or Docker self-host
Same product, two ways to run it
Use Kanera hosted at $5 per user, or run Docker yourself with the same Pro feature set and no Kanera seat fee.
See what blocks the work.
Plan when it lands.
Link cards with Blocked by and Blocks, then follow whole chains across boards in Map, Timeline, or Steps. Timeline lays out start-to-finish bars for every board you can see, with critical paths and scheduling conflicts in view.
How work actually gets done.
From 9am to end-of-day.
Three moments carry your workday: picking up what is next, working the card through to done, and seeing what you finished.
Morning focus
Open one screen, not six boards.
Home opens on your Up next queue: the cards you, or your lead, ranked to do first, across every project. Overdue, today’s deadlines, and the coming week sit right below it.
The numbered Up next button stays beside notifications on every page, so the next card is always one click away.
Up nextOverdueDue todayNext 7 daysRemindersDuring the day
Open the card. Do the work. Move it on.
Each card holds its checklists, fields, comments, and blockers. Change its list from inside the card or drag it across the board, and mark it complete to drop it out of your queue.
Notifications cover what needs you: mentions, new assignments, overdue work, and a ready-to-start handoff when the last card blocking yours is done.

Work Done in My Cards lists the cards you created, moved, completed, and checked off, grouped by day across all your boards, with an activity strip for the weeks behind it.
Home keeps the running count: what you finished in the last seven days, the change on the seven before, and a 28-day completion strip.

Bring your work with you.
In under 60 seconds.
Switching project systems shouldn't mean losing history or manually rebuilding boards from scratch.
Import boards, cards, lists, members, custom fields, comments, and attachments with automated schema review.
Start with one real client project. We help map list structures, permissions, and workspace templates.
Import a CSV for cards and fields, then use the REST API or an assisted move when history and attachments matter too.
Before you start.
Does Kanera have timeline or Gantt views?
Yes. Timeline draws Gantt bars from planned start to due date on boards, My Cards, and Team Cards. On desktop, drag or resize bars and draw blocking links; on touch devices, open a card to change its dates. Inspect working-day slack, critical paths, and scheduling conflicts across accessible boards. The separate Timeline layout in Dependencies compares chains in due-week columns.
Timeline is included on Free, Pro, and self-hosted Kanera. It supports delivery planning without a separate charting tool. It does not balance staff capacity or automatically reschedule dependent cards.
What is Kanera?
Kanera is a board-led work management tool. Each project gets a familiar board, and Home, Global Work, Up next, and Work Done show what is happening across all of them, so nobody has to open six boards to find out what is due.
How much does Kanera cost?
Free covers up to 4 organization members, 3 active boards, and 3 active automations. Pro is $5 per user per month, or $49 per user per year with annual billing, and removes those limits.
Every new workspace starts with a 30-day Pro trial, and no card is required.
Can I use my own AI assistant?
Yes. Kanera does not run AI agents or ship a chatbot of its own. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Copilot, Cursor, and other MCP clients connect with scoped OAuth, and the CLI and TypeScript SDK cover agents that live in a terminal or your own code.
Every change an agent makes is labelled with its name, and the card shows a live chip while it works. Agent access is part of Pro and the trial, with no AI add-on or per-agent fee.
Does Kanera have a CLI or an MCP server?
Both. The official Kanera CLI is published on npm as @kanera/cli: install it with npm install --global @kanera/cli, or try it with npx @kanera/cli commands. It exposes every MCP tool as a shell command, so any terminal or coding agent can use Kanera without MCP configuration.
Kanera also runs a native MCP server at https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp, publishes a TypeScript SDK as @kanera/sdk, ships a Kanera plugin for ChatGPT and supported Codex surfaces, and publishes a Kanera Agent Skill for Claude Code, Codex, and other agents. Running kanera setup claude installs the skill for Claude Code.
Can I self-host Kanera?
Yes. Kanera runs from one Docker Compose file on your own server, with the same features as hosted Pro and no Kanera license fee. The source is available under Elastic License 2.0.
You take on updates, backups, mail, and monitoring. If nobody on the team can own that, hosted Pro is the better fit.
How do I move my work from Trello or another tool?
Trello boards import directly, and you review every list, label, member, and field mapping before anything is created. Other tools can come in through CSV import.
For a larger move, tell us what you use today and we will help plan the migration.
Can I connect cards and track blockers?
Yes. Use Blocked by, Blocks, or Relates to between cards in the same workspace, including across boards. Blocked chips and filters show waiting work, and assignees and watchers hear when the last active blocker clears. The Dependencies view adds Map, Timeline, and Steps, critical-path highlighting, and direct link editing with undo/redo. Agents can read whole chains through MCP, the CLI, SDK, and API.
Does Kanera track time?
Yes. Time in progress automatically counts the working hours a card spends in lists marked In progress. Admins can correct the total, and Table can sum, average, and export it.
This tracks card workflow time, not individual work sessions. Use numeric custom fields when you need separate estimates or billable-hour records; personal stopwatches and timesheets are not included.
When is Kanera not the right fit?
Kanera automatically tracks the working hours a card spends in In progress lists, and admins can correct the total. If you need capacity planning, per-person timers and timesheets, or SAML or OIDC single sign-on, Kanera does not offer those today. The Who it is for page lists every case where another tool will serve you better.
Which languages does Kanera support?
Kanera offers 11 language options: English (US), English (UK), Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Dutch, Norwegian Bokmål, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese. All are included in Free, Pro, and self-hosted Kanera.
Choose a language on the sign-in page or under Profile settings → Language. Your choice follows your account across devices and applies to the interface, emails, notifications, dates, and numbers. Each teammate can use their own language.
